Helpful FAQs

What Las Vegas neighborhoods do you serve?

Moxie delivers fast, affordable, and family-friendly pest control services to homeowners throughout Las Vegas, including in the neighborhoods of Centennial Hills, The Lakes, Lone Mountain, Sun City Summerlin, Rancho Oakey, Peccole Ranch, and Desert Shores.

Are your treatments pet- and kid-friendly?

Yes, all of our treatments are kid- and pet-friendly. We use only EPA-registered products and train our Field Experts to follow label instructions to the letter. You’ll want to keep children and pets away from treated areas just until the products are dry. Typically, this means about 30 minutes outdoors (depending on the weather) and 1–3 hours indoors (depending on ventilation). If you have aquariums, terrariums, or bird cages, your Field Expert may provide additional precautions.

What are the most common pests in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas homeowners often contend with scorpions, ants, cockroaches, and rodents. Scorpions sneak indoors seeking cooler shelter and moisture, while ants and cockroaches multiply quickly where food and water are accessible. Rodents squeeze through small openings in search of nesting sites.

Each pest brings unique challenges. Moxie’s Field Experts use targeted treatments and proven strategies to stop infestations at their source and keep them at bay year-round.

Do I really need professional pest control, or can I just use store-bought products?

Store-bought products may offer temporary results, but they rarely reach the root of the problem. Pests often hide in walls, attics, foundations, and other places that store-bought products can’t touch. Professional pest control targets entry points and breeding areas with methods adjusted for each species. Working with a professional saves you the trial-and-error of DIY, giving you faster results and confidence that pests are kept at bay year-round.

Do you offer mosquito control services in Las Vegas?

Yes, our mosquito control services are popular in Las Vegas, where mosquito activity has been surging. We attack the problem on two fronts, providing fogging treatments as well as In2Care Stations, which are non-obtrusive devices that get rid of mosquitoes in their larval stage. We service these stations every 21 to 30 days to help keep Las Vegas yards inviting and comfortable throughout mosquito season.

Aphids have invaded my yard. Can you help?

Aphids are a growing problem in Las Vegas, especially in yards with trees where clusters of these tiny insects gather on leaves and stems to feed on plant sap. This activity weakens plants, causing leaves to curl or yellow, and produces sticky honeydew that attracts ants and can lead to mold growth. Because aphids multiply so quickly, infestations can escalate fast. Our team uses targeted treatments to reduce aphid populations and help protect your yard’s health from these tiny but troublesome invaders.

How does the climate in Southern Nevada affect pest activity?

The hot, dry climate in Las Vegas creates ideal conditions for pests like scorpions, ants, and rodents that seek moisture and shelter indoors. Temperature swings push pests inside homes where food and water are accessible. Limited natural water sources concentrate pests near irrigated areas and landscaping. These challenges make infestations common, but with targeted treatments and expert knowledge of pest habits, we help homeowners effectively reduce pest populations and maintain comfortable living spaces year-round.

Do seasonal shifts in Las Vegas affect pest activity?

Seasonal shifts in Las Vegas play a key role in pest activity. In spring, warming temperatures encourage insects like ants and scorpions to become more active as they search for food and mates. Summer’s intense heat drives many pests indoors seeking cooler shelter and water. Fall brings a drop in temperatures, prompting rodents and insects to prepare for winter by nesting inside homes. Even in winter, some pests stay active indoors, making year-round vigilance essential. We train daily to understand these behaviors and help our customers enjoy the peace of mind that comes with effective pest control.

Why am I seeing more pests right after my first treatment?

Seeing more pests after your first treatment is not a cause for concern because it shows the treatment is working. The pests have been disrupted, and they’re being pushed out of hiding. After your one-month follow-up treatment, you should notice a sharp decline in activity. If pest problems flare up between scheduled visits, Moxie offers free warranty reservice for customers on our year-round plans.
