Helpful FAQs

How do I choose frequency of treatments?

Quarterly pest control is the minimum recommendation to keep most homes pest-free. In some cases—like severe infestations, persistent pests, or warm and wet climates—more frequent visits are needed.

What is the difference between pest control and extermination?

Extermination is often a reactive process aimed at eradicating an existing pest infestation, typically using chemical treatments. It’s a short-term solution designed to eliminate pests quickly without necessarily addressing the root cause or preventing future issues.

Pest Control, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive and proactive strategy. It involves identifying the causes of infestations, implementing preventive measures, and managing pest populations sustainably over time. This may include eco-friendly techniques, habitat modification, and ongoing maintenance to keep pests away in the long term.

What happens if I’m not happy with my service?

If you’re not happy with your service, please let us know right away. We want our customers to be satisfied with our services. Depending on the situation and the coverage offered by your service plan, we may offer a follow-up visit, make adjustments to the products used, or take other steps to address your expectations and the commitments we made in our agreement with you.

How long do I need to stay off treated areas after a service?

We ask that you allow treated areas to completely dry before resuming an activity around those areas. Outside, this usually takes about 30 minutes. Indoors, it can take about an hour, depending on your treatment.

What Atlanta neighborhoods do you serve?

We provide trusted pest control services to our neighbors throughout the Atlanta metro, including in neighborhoods like Midtown, Buckhead, Virginia-Highland, East Atlanta, Inman Park, and West End.

Are your treatments pet- and kid-friendly?

Yes! Our safety-minded Field Experts use family- and pet-friendly products. We do recommend keeping children and pets away from treated areas until they’re fully dry—usually about 30 minutes outdoors (depending on weather) and 1 to 3 hours indoors (based on ventilation). If you have fish tanks, bird cages, or terrariums, we may suggest a few extra precautions.

What are the most troublesome pests in Atlanta?

Atlanta has no shortage of troublesome pests. Roaches remain a constant problem, often invading kitchens, bathrooms, and basements in search of moisture and shelter. Termites quietly cause costly damage to wooden structures, while mosquitoes swarm during the warmer months and pose health risks. Rodents, ants, and stinging insects also make frequent appearances in and around homes, where they’re drawn to food sources and sheltered nesting areas.

With so many pest pressures in the region, proactive prevention and expert treatment are key for Atlanta homeowners.

Can’t I just do DIY pest control with store-bought products?

Over-the-counter pest products may kill the bugs you see, but they rarely stop new ones from showing up. Most sprays and traps are designed for repeated use and often miss the hidden areas like cracks, wall voids, and outdoor entry points. Without a thorough inspection and knowledge of pest behavior, the root of the problem often goes unnoticed.

Our Field Experts are trained to identify these trouble spots and apply targeted, professional-grade treatments for longer-lasting and more dependable results.

Do you offer mosquito control services in Atlanta?

Absolutely. Our mosquito control includes monthly fogging treatments and the use of In2Care Stations, which are low-profile devices designed to attract mosquitoes and disrupt their breeding cycle by targeting larvae before they mature.

Atlanta’s heat, humidity, and frequent summer storms make it a prime environment for mosquito outbreaks, especially around areas with standing water. To help keep your yard protected during the height of mosquito season, our local Field Experts service each station every 21 to 30 days and adjust treatments as conditions change.

What can you do about termites in Atlanta?

Termite treatment in Atlanta starts with a thorough inspection to assess the severity of the infestation and identify the type of termites involved. Based on the findings, your dedicated Field Experts will develop a treatment plan, often involving the application of specialized products around the home’s foundation to create a protective barrier.

In some cases, baiting systems may be used to target termite colonies more effectively. Because termites are attracted to moisture, addressing any water issues around the property is also an important part of the process. Ongoing monitoring helps ensure the treatment continues to prevent termite activity in your home.

How does Atlanta’s climate affect pest activity?

Atlanta’s warm, humid climate creates ideal conditions for pest activity nearly year-round. Mild winters mean many pests don’t fully die off, while long, hot summers accelerate breeding cycles for roaches, ants, mosquitoes, and more. Frequent rain and high moisture levels also lead to standing water and damp areas, environments that mosquitoes, termites, and other moisture-loving pests adore.

The combination of heat, humidity, and rainfall keeps pest pressure high across all seasons, making consistent prevention and treatment especially important for Atlanta homeowners.

How do the seasons affect pest activity in Atlanta?

Atlanta’s seasons all bring their own pest challenges. In spring, warming temperatures and increased rain awaken pests like ants, termites, and mosquitoes. Summer brings peak activity, with roaches, mosquitoes, and stinging insects thriving in our notorious heat and humidity. In fall, pests like rodents and spiders start seeking shelter indoors as temperatures cool. Even in winter, Atlanta’s mild climate allows pests like roaches and mice to stay active, especially inside homes. Year-round protection is key in a city where pest activity has no off-season.

Why am I seeing more pests right after my first treatment?

It’s normal to notice a temporary spike in pest activity following your initial service. As the treatment starts working, it disturbs the pests’ usual hiding places, forcing them out into the open before they’re eliminated. While it might seem like the problem is getting worse, this is actually a sign that our pest control services are doing their job. Activity usually decreases within a few days. If pest issues persist, our year-round customers can request a no-cost reservice under our warranty.
